My after-game forum comments:
A few words about the game last night. The writing was on the wall when perpetual livewire Andre Gray turned Hessey after just over a minute and thundered a shot from an incredible angle onto the post. The rebound fell kindly to Nielson who tried his hardest to miss an open goal with a shinned effort that crept into the corner. The second was by virtue of non-existent marking and Kovacs had a free header which Hurst shovelled into his own net. Moments later a whipped cross from Gray was poked in by old boy Jon Shaw with the Barrow defence fashionably late.

Three down at half time I stupidly thought they'd ease off in the second half. Not a bit of it. Shaw grabbed his 2nd and 3rd in a five minute period, both of which were way too easy and belated Xmas presents. Boyes got one back from a Barrow set piece - how often do we convert those? Then the misery was completed as Gray clipped the ball past Hurst.

You would think it would be impossible to identify the main culprits in that performance. Wrong - they weren't equally bad. Despite the 2nd goal, Hurst had a good game and I was pleased with Rutherford and Alex Harvey. Danny Rowe reverted back to the non-footballer I first witnessed at Woking at the beginning of the season - maybe he should only be used as an impact sub? Flynn tried unsuccessfully to get himself sent off to save further embarrassment. McConville was atrocious and didn't look interested. Pearson and Hessey were found wanting again and again. Hunter was abysmal and was replaced by Owen with a full 20 minutes to go - yes, Bayliss really did have to take that risk of an injury in the final quarter and get Hunter off.

A thoroughly miserable evening and a total waste of £18 + train + refreshments.
