The first round of the FA Trophy has special meaning to Barrow AFC fans, having celebrated lifting the trophy at the old and new Wembleys in 1990 and 2010. Therefore with this significance preying on the mind, on a damp and grey and miserable day in South East Manchester, it looked for all the world that the 2012-2013 campaign would flounder. Barrow trailed from the 11 minute and going into the 95th had seldom looked like equalizing. Then rightback Matt Flynn, who'd an inauspicious game, chested the ball past a Hyde defender and rifled the ball into the bottom left of the net from 20 yards. Much relief and celebrating!
