After being given a panettone by a very dear Italian friend I wondered if there was something creative I could use it for, and with the Christmas festivities looming, a tie in with the season looked promising.
A Google search unearthed Panettone French Toast with Mixed Berries. This looked like the ideal Xmas day breakfast and thus it proved. However, for a Christmas morning preparation, it was a little fiddly. Cream needed whipping, berries needed pulping and the bread needed soaking in a batter. In the end I believe it was worth the effort.
